The Engineering Concepts

  • The basic operation of Coriolis mass flow meters is based on the principles of motion mechanics.
  • Coriolis Mass Flow meter  contains a vibrating tube in which a fluid flow causes,  changes in frequency, phase shift or amplitude.
  • The sensor signal is fed into the integrally mounted pc-board.
  • The resulting output signal is strictly proportional to the real mass flow rate, whereas thermal mass flow meters are dependent of the physical properties of the fluid.
  • Coriolis mass flow measurement is fast and very accurate.

Importance

  • The  Coriolis meter  principle is based on  motion mechanics.
  • As the process fluid enters the sensor, it gets splitted.

Coriolis Mass Flow Meter

  • During operation, a drive coil stimulates the tubes to oscillate in opposition at the natural resonant frequency.
  • As the tubes oscillate, the voltage generated from each pickoff creates a sine wave.
  • This indicates the motion of one tube relative to the other.
  • The time delay between the two sine waves is called Delta-T, which is directly proportional to the mass flow rate.
