Joshua Robinson, is the Lead Science Teacher and the Co-Math Teacher at American University Preparatory. Having worked as a Lab Manager for the Bruns Lab at UC Berkeley, and a Research Assistant for the Wildermuth Lab at UC Berkeley, he is experienced in using experiments to learn-by-doing and uses inquiry-based learning as the focal point of his courses. After all, in his words, “Science is the art of asking questions.” Before arriving at AUP, he spent a year abroad, learning French and working at School Year Abroad, France.
Mr. Robinson is a member of the residential staff and lives on-campus full time, he encourages urban stewardship as one of the student advisors of our DTLA Project, and he serves as a French tutor in the Learning Lab.
Mr. Robinson has a Bachelor of Science from the University of California, Berkeley in Genetics and Plant Biology, and a Diplôme Universitaire d’Études Françaises from the Université Rennes 2.
In his free time, you can find Mr. Robinson playing his trombone, bouldering, or backpacking along the PCT.
