AP & Honors Courses

College-level Advanced Placement courses are an integral aspect of AUP's curriculum. Beginning with the 2015-16 academic year, AUP will offer selected AP courses, depending on student qualifications and interest. For more information on these courses, see the College Board site: https://apstudent.collegeboard.org/apcourse.

AUP offers 13 AP and Honors courses. Students must qualify to enroll in AP courses by demonstrating proficiency in the subject area, a minimum grade in a prerequisite course, along with teacher and department recommendations. Standardized testing like SSAT, ISEE, or PSAT scores may assist in the overall evaluation.

In order to encourage a balanced lifestyle, our students may enroll in a maximum of 3 Advanced Placement courses per school year unless otherwise approved and are required to take the AP examination in May. AP and Honors course grades are given an extra point when calculating the weighted grade point average.
